“Ground-breaking and fast-acting” is how researchers, doctors and patients describe the powerful, effective results of ketamine infusions. If you think you’ve run out of options for your depression, anxiety, PTSD or chronic pain, ketamine depression treatment can give you hope. Many patients report feeling better within hours of a ketamine infusion and without the side effects that come with classic antidepressants. If effective results have eluded you in the past, you may be a candidate for Ketamine therapy.

Is Ketamine for Depression Treatment Widely Accepted?

A growing number of trained mental-health providers are using Ketamine for depression treatment, providing relief to patients with severe, treatment-resistant depression. Extended research on the effects and uses of this well-known anesthetic also illustrate the aptitude of ketamine infusions for other conditions that also prove difficult to treat, including chronic pain, migraine headaches, PTSD, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). When administered by a trained medical professional at a ketamine treatment center, low-dose infusions can bring relief with very low risks.

Will Ketamine Work When Other Forms of Depression Treatment Have Failed?

Treating depression, PTSD and other mental health disorders can be exasperating. Common anti-depressants often come with uncomfortable side effects, and fail to provide relief for some patients. Medical research and case studies continue to support the complex role that ketamine plays in brain health. At its most elemental level, the long-used anesthetic has a short-term effect of blocking neurotransmitter receptors in the areas of the brain that manage sensory integration, memory and learning. Blocking these pathways is how ketamine generates a favorable chemical environment for neuron growth. The symptoms of mood disorders, PTSD and chronic pain are often reduced through the repair and regeneration of neural pathways.
